Ramsaran's career as a sculptor spans five decades. Much of that time was spent creating sculpture around the world in places such as Africa, Brazil, China, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Japan and Mexico. Shrine of the Arrowhead Women, 1992 was inspired by rituals for training young people from ancient cultures found in China, Japan and Africa, as they progress through different stages in their lives. This work was also exhibited at the Chrysler Museum and the Studio Museum in Harlem in 1994 during Ramsaran's traveling solo exhibition at both institutions.
